Professor Americo Lopez-Ortiz, President of the World Apostolate of Fatima, announced recently that the Apostolate has been approved by the Holy See as a Public Association of the Faithful for the universal Church. The decree is dated the 7th of October 2005 for the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. The World Apostolate of Fatima is an International Organization of approximately 44 nations and millions of members.

As a Public Association of the Faithful it is the only organization approved by the Catholic Church to be responsible for the propagation of the message of Fatima. "The Catholic Church has placed a heavy responsibility on the Apostolate to guard the purity of the message of Fatima and to propagate it into all corners of the earth," said Americo Lopez-Ortiz, President. "We undertake this mission with determination and will not rest until the Immaculate Heart of Mary prevails and peace reigns on this earth," said Professor Lopez.

A public ceremony to announce this news was held at the Aula Magna of the Pontifical Council for the Laity in Rome on February 3, 2006. The World Apostolate of Fatima enjoyed participation in the ceremonies by a number of its constituent nations and is anxiously looking forward to this momentous day.

An international Congress of the World Apostolate of Fatima was also held in Rome from January 31 to February 4, 2006.
