The Glacier Perito
Moreno, behind me in Patagonia, Argentina.
February 2003. We visited
the Estancia Cristina next to Lago Argentino. Cristina was the daughter
of a shepperd who traveled from England to this area which had lots
of sheep. The wool industry was a great commodity. Cristina got
very ill due to the windy cold winters and died of lung disease.
We ate a delicious asado de carnero, (lamb roasted), in the typical
argentinian style. This region is very turistic. I stayed in Calafate,
overviewing Lake Argentino, the aqua blue lake, which reflects the
colors of the sky, even when it is pink, yellow-orange...A calafate
is a plant like blueberries, I ate some.
